this is my favourite hat that i got at a flea market in Birmingham a few weeks ago for £8. I can't stop wearing it, it goes with everything! or at least I think it does!

The wonderful Twinkle Pink said she'll try and make me a similar Cage Bra for the re-vamp of my Balloon Pop! hopefully with matching pants!
Burly love VV I had a wonderful evening yesterday meeting Sara, a lovely vintage kitten I met at the Blue Room last year and who has seen me at shows since, at New St station. The beautiful lady put me to shame turning up in a beautiful Limb dress, a little company I wanted a dress off when I went to Erotica last year! hopefully I'll pick one up this year at Erotica I know which ones I've got my eye on... Limb tea dress you shall be mine! Anyhow after that little tangent myself and Sara headed to the Custard Factory for Le Keux Events Pin up / Sugarbilly casting. It was a lovely set up inside the salon, little tables set up for tea all very quaint and kitsch I adored it. so much so that I took a sneaky picture of our table before we left. It was lovely to get to chat to some of the lovely ladies there and get to talk to Sara properly! We each took it in turns to have head shots and full body shots taken .... Lyndsey tell's us it's just for her records! I hope so lady as I'm sure mine were awful, I wasn't prepared at all for a shoot. We then had a little interiew and went over the terms and conditions etc. It was such a lovely relaxed atmosphere and everyone was incredibly friendly, I felt terribly envious of Lyndsey's VoH dress!! grrrrr darn it's an old pattern they did that I adored but never managed to get. Keep your fingers crossed for me kittens and cats as I won't find out how it all went for at least two weeks! As we finished earlier than expected I took the lovely Sara to Island Bar for a cocktail or two before she had to head back to Northampton! where at the bar we realized we had matching purses in alternative colours and shared the same taste in a lot of brands, she's my vintage, shopaholic soulmate I feel! It was a wonderful evening and I can't wait for more cocktail times again soon with this kitten. Lets hope we both get through with the promotional work and then we'll get to see a lot more of each other! On another note the lovely Lucy of my course bought this song to my attention! and I actually may use this for a new fan dance routine for a charity show on the 10th April!
they'll be a lot of champagne colours and black beading and fans! come along kittens!! I also had a lovely little message of Raquel Rouge about coming to model for 'Pencils and Pin Ups' so I'm very very excited indeed! I'd also like to thank burlexe for asking me to come along to audition this Saturday and am more than a little upset that i can't make it! good luck to everyone attending though! burly love VV The other week I popped along to the Vintage Fair in digbeth but due to how busy it was I didn't feel like pushing people out the way or fighting over clothes so I decided to leave after one lap. As I left I saw fabulous people coming out by the fountaina and then remembered the flea was on! I'm so glad I went because I found this hat: which I have completly fallen in love with! thank you flea stall man for holding for me while I ran to get £5 out of the cash machine!! my latest purchase was this book from Urban Outfitters, with student discount of course!
that was just a quick buying update. burly love VV Well, well Kittens what a week! Thursday had been a day I’d been looking forward to for a very, very long time! I couldn’t believe how calm I felt about it all as I was performing at Coco de Mer! In Covent Garden for an hour 6 – 7. Hannah met me at Euston at 3:30 and we went and had lunch together before heading to Covent Garden. On arrival, which we had to make a quick stop to pick up champagne, we met the Coco de Mer staff who all looked immaculate and were so welcoming. I was shown in to one of the dressing rooms with Hannah and as she began to blow balloons I began to change! The staff were wonderful and offered us refreshments and a choice of music. I’d never been to the Covent Garden store before and it was total fetish luxury, it was heaven to say the least. After getting dressed I got up in to the window and began my strip tease, the passersby were lovely, smiling, waving with quite a few people taking videos and photographs on their phone! My favourite were the group of tourists who came in and asked my friend to take a picture of me with them, but the back of me with my fans up, it made my day! Along with the lovely couples who shouted inside and the staff in the stores across waving and smiling! My performance went down so well the Coco de Mer staff let me stay on for an extra 40 minutes fan dancing, which I really enjoyed. Leaving the window the manager took some photographs of me in the changing rooms and then I changed and came back out to find Hannah buying books and bits and pieces which gave me a bit of time to take a proper look round. Everything was magnificent, the underwear, cutlery, books .... Wonderful! I purchased a set of tassels and the manager, such a doll, gave me 50% off and the opportunity to come back to perform again! I can’t wait, I can’t explain how wonderful the whole experience was and I’m so glad everyone enjoyed it. Hopefully I'll get the images from Coco de Mer soon and I shall post them to my blog. I had a lovely time with Hannah in London again but sadly we didn't make it to the ice bar but theres always next time! Candid shot from London via the Blackberry ... oh and me getting dressed! Friday evening I popped along to the opening of Le Keux Events where they now have a HQ in the Custard Factory! The store was wonderful with a little Besame stall where you could purchase the Besame vintage line, a little pink dressing table and stall with many vintage photographs around where for £5 you could have a wonderfully kitsch vintage hair style! There was a make shift studio space where again for £5 you could have a little taste pin up shoot and near that a wonderful cake stand as well as the lovely vintage Life ladies selling copies of their newly launched magazine with the fabulous Kitten von Mew on the cover! If I hadn’t been penniless I’d have purchased a subscription. The entertainment was fabulous too with a live singer who looked like Buddy Holly singing all the Buddy Holly hits while the vintage guys and dolls danced along! I was happily surprised to see Kitty Ribbons who I’d had the pleasure of meeting in Bristol at the Cats Meow a few weeks back. I was pleased to see it was Kitty performing as I’d also asked to perform at the event but apparently just missed out. Sunday: was the show at the Custard Factory for the Birmingham Tattoo Convention, Forever: art inspired by ink! I felt very lucky to be asked by the wonderful Claire from cherry pop pictures to come along and perform and there were quite a few artists, tattooists and jewellery makers going.
I felt super nervous though for the first time properly in two years as the lovelies from university were coming and most the people I work with, so to say I was panicking a bit would be an understatement. Luckily Tom was there to blow balloons and calm me down! And Sam managed to fix the pearls on my pants as I snapped them before going on! As soon as I got out there I felt fine, my corset clip got stuck which threw me a little but other than that I was very pleased! Especially with the pink champagne going everywhere [apologies if I got anyone, I didn’t mean to] Everyone seemed to really enjoy it, Hayley who makes the most awesome dolls was there watching and made a lovely comment about my bum and it seems the university lovelies had a good time too! Even Min soo who I’m not sure knew what she was getting herself in to until after. After drying off from the champagne pour I had some time to look around at the art: if it’s on next year is defiantly work the trip if not for the amazing art, fantastic cupcakes or awesome dolls but for the sheer amount of attractive men and women! Wonderful! I'm looking forward to recieving the photographs from Forever and Coco de Mer and getting them up on the blog! All in all one amazing week, roll on next week! Burly love Miss. VV Pretty unproductive day today! I did find a few things I wish I had all the money in the world to buy ..... *fingers crossed* I win the roll over tonight eh! here's a few little bits and bobs: pretty. pretty. pretty things! and to finish this random post I really like these:
Finally I've chosen the song I want for my new luxurious, over the top big band'esque act that i shall debut in Munich this coming September! it shall be: I adore this song and can see how it's going to work with my wonderful costume already! I may even incorporate the new white fan's I shall be hopefully *fingers crossed* getting my little mitts on this coming Friday! that'll be one item down from my wishlit :) I'm incredibly happy about this! I bought this bag a while ago as I really really wanted it and decided why the hell not, since then I kept it in the dust bag with all the tags as I was so affraid to use and keep it! well the other day I thought what the hell I adore it so I've kept it!! it's beautiful, just beautiful! now I'd just like my ultragirl flats and my vivienne Westwood life is complete! I also recieved a few more images from Francesca, so you'll see them dotted about the site, in my gallery and used as banners for different sections on the website! I'm still incredibly pleased with what an amazing job she did and I shall be working with her again at the end of March! along side Diane an incredible make up artist who shall also be doing my make up and hair for a shoot for Blank! expression.
