Last night was the Blue Room 3: A Toys Story! I packed up Bad Taste Barbie and Clowning Around in my little green carry case and with Hannah and Sam headed to Northampton! I didn't get there till quite late but was greeted by Mr. Blue on the door - luckily I'd changed in to my latex pants and bra in the backseat of the car... quite the sight I'm sure driving through Northampton. Everyone was already dressed and set, the crowed was the biggest I'd seen it there yet and they all looked fabulous! Behind the scenes Luli, Emerald Ace, Dee La Beau, Nicole a Lure, Electra and Rainbow Sparkles were all ready and waiting! I had a few things to throw together before show time and had to quickly talk to the lovely maid who was wonderful. Sadly my first act didn't go as planned, the music edited by Roxanne was a hit, my hip flask fell out before it was meant to have been revealed and the neck strap of my latex got caught in my wig! but for the debut of the act it wasn't too bad. My second act went perfectly 'Clowning Around' the music - sing,s sing, sing by benny goodman was a hit and even the Barber [DJ] commeneted on what a great song choice it was! The glitter from my balloons went everywhere and my hair was backcomb crazy, very cruela DeVille. It was lovely to finally meet Dee La Beau too! we didn't get to chat much but from behind the curtain her acts went down a storm! the cheering was wonderful and she was so lovely! hopefully our paths will cross again soon! All in all it was a fabulous night all the performers should be proud! I always love performing at the Blue Room and really appreciate Luli having me back so many times, always a pleasure!! Today I went charity shopping or should I say hunting with Thomas .... he found the t-shirt above! Ralph Lauren with Embroidered Hounds! This! pirate top, however he didn't buy this due to the colour!! oy vey!! and I bought this pretty little vintage case .... yet more show cases.. I also bought a nail set from a discount store souley based on the pattern! I thought I should probably just add to this blog post some other things from this week! I met my mom last week and we went for lunch and a bit of shopping in the Mail Box And by the looks of things there's going to be quite a few vintage fair's this summer... finally another coke can .... Happy 125th Birthday again Coke! Now I expect to see you all on the 6th May at Darkteaser's Show Case to come and watch me of course, my wonderful burly girls Tiffany Beau and Cherry Stone, Constance Peach who I haven't seen since her first show at BCB and finally Kitty Liquor and Bettie Wishes!! fabulous line up, see you all there petals! Oh and look what tom painted for me!!!
A few images of my finished embelished corset for the 'Clowning Around' Routine debut Sunday at The Blue Room. I used a corset I'd bought last summer for £3 that I was planning on selling via my facebook due to the fact I didn't have any lilac themed acsts! However as it hadn't sold yet and it had such a handy zip down the front to fasten and unfasten it I decided to make it something new. This was the corset before, I'd pinned fringing on to see what it'd look like. Ussing the harlequin fabric I'd bought a month ago I pinned and stitched it on to the corset finally finishing it with some beaded fringing. I then attached a black tassel to the zip to make it more fitting and easier to grab and unzip! I also managed to get my large black hat for my Barbie routine £3 from Primark! thank you Sammy and Laura! .... not a great picture but at least you can see what it's like. While in Primark I spotted these two dresses, I prefered the grey but sadly it was in clerance, broken and too small! The cream was quite nice but not WOW enough for me!! I really adore the grey!! If anyone finds a grey one anywhere size 12 please let me know. On another note when I popped to a local shop last night I noticed these on one of the walls! I thought they were fantastic.... I'd like them to put up in my house! and this is just a picture of a tree to leave you with as I thought the blossom was lovely!
I decided today I would finish my 'Clowning Around' costume! So far so good the bra is almost finished and high waisted pants wise I'm either wearing glitter pants or my plain black ones that i'll aplique the diamond pattern on to. Thought I'd throw a little picture in of my almost finished clown bra.... I'm terribly happy with it!
Arriving at The Cross last night the lovely Laura had set up a little dressing room with a bottle of wine and box of chocolate for each of the performers! which was the sweetest thing any promoter of a show has done and made us all feel welcome. I got to meet the wonderful Trois Deville! two of the ladies are pictured above who were absoloute stunners! and not only that, even though their track stopped they sang Aerosmiths Pink to finish their routine! I was ever so impressed and thought it very brave that they didn't run off or stop but sang and got the routine finished!! well done ladies fabulous outfits, wonderful routine and lovely ladies! with bad ass tattoo's The scrumptious Cherry Stone, one of my oldest burly friends was also there performing two of my favourite acts! her Noir routine and Fan dance! beautiful indeed! That night I debut my fan dance to Nina Simone Feeling Good dedicated to Lucy Norton! and it was actually the best, most elegant fan dance I have ever performed! I was ever so pleased!! and for my second act I did my signature balloon pop with my new cage bra bought from Banbury Cross, I still need a new thong and pasties for that act I feel. It was such a wonderful night, Laura produced a brilliant show! and raised a lot of money for an amazing cause. All the ladies acts were more than could be expected and Trois Deville also asked if I'd come along Friday and stage kitten. Which to me sounds fabulous, nothing wrong with being a stage kitten for a night, it's lovely to just help everyone out. Today I popped to Solihull and saw this wonderful display in the Poplar way. I took note of the store that had created the display and went a long to have a little look. Toga and Loll is a fabulous little boutique with an eclectic mix of vintage and new garments, hand bags and fabulous trinkets. What caught my eye were the beautiful cards propped along the front of the window that are also displayed inside to buy. On entering the owner, an eccentric, bubbly owner started chatting to me. she was fabulous, fun and wonderful. She told me about her store and how they'd been there for 10 months and really enjoyed it putting on tea parties and live bands outside! It all sounded so fun!! Toga and Loll's 1 year anniversary is coming up and exciting news is I've been asked to perform in the window for the big celebration!! eeeeekkk exciting!! Heading over to the other sie of Solihull I found Aspire another new store full of lovelies, Cath Kidson, Postcard make up bags, purses and compacts, Keep Calm and Carry On merchandise and lots and lots and lots of wonderous clothes! a gew dresses I'd love to own. Cupcake cases, vintage inspired patterns displayed on a cake tier! I bought a pack of the top packet for Hannah Banana, I couldn't resist. I spent the rest of my day with sworvski crystals ....
All in all a wonderful couple of days - performing, offers of window performances for anniversaries and new stores. wonderful... Yesterday I recieved a package! Inside it I found ...... my Dolls Haus Latex! I tried it on to see which way of wearing it looked best. I think version two where it meets together like a whole costume works best and is inkeeping with my 50's Barbie original idea. I also popped in to town and met Miss. Luco before my shift at work. The lovely lady that she is lent me her hipflask for my Bad Taste Barbie routine for the 17th April at The Blue Room in Northampton! She looks bloody wonderful, with her shades on and leopard lapel jacket! next time we shall be going for a drink .... that is when I get the hipflask back to her. I very much look forward to it. This Sunday shall be the Charity Burlesque I'm performing at with some other burly lovelies in Moseley at The Cross!! come along sugar's it's only £5 and all for a good cause kittens!!
When I go to Torture Garden I've decided I want to wear this beautiful creation from Doll Hause Latex and to go with it I'd like ... This William Wilde cape in black! as I think it'll look amazing together! and I'm in love with William Wilde's 'Through with Love' collection. to finish the outfit a black Jane Doe latex bow! I already have a white and a red bow! I think the black would look amazing at the top of the pants between the pants and bra! and would tie in with the cape too!
Samantha and I are going to start swimming soon! We need some snazzy swimming caps like these ladies!
The wonderful finished bra from Dolls Haus Latex! I can't wait to recieve this over the next few days!! How talented is my little Peski!! look at this set for my new routine to be debut at The Blue Room Burlesque!! This Month!! eeeeek!! I can't wait to try this on and have a little practice as well as a prance around my room ...... as you do. and a Happy 125th Birthday Coke! I am loving your packaging for your 125th anniversary so much so I had to take a photographs of your pin up can and pin up bottle sleeve! wonderful! I popped in to Age Concern in Shirley to ask if they'd like me to come in once a month to dress there windows as they are in need of some help! sadly they told me they had a lady who already dresses there windows ..... they need to move on her window dressing is awful .... Cancer Research a few doors down do wonderful displays that are themed and colour co-ordinated. Age Concern seem to throw anything in the window .... this month two plastic childs umbrellas and three blocks with different colour shoes on with similar coloured jewllery it looks hideous! and that's me being kind. I feel I may have to try again or hit some more charity shops and see which ones will let me give it a go! However something good did come out of my charity window dressing quest I popped in to Debra funiture store and found this vintage case: I adored the case as soon as I saw it and it looks rather similar to my old costume case but it isn't as deep as this case! Sadly i can't find an image of my old case. I found this photographs in my archieve folder! I remember someone posted it up online to say they'd bought it from a costume sale at a theatre! I love this bra!! Yesterday I also found a reason to wear my vintage 50's style turban out! I added poppy clips I'd made to the side to add a little something as it seemed to plain.
